[China] CNIPA released IPR statistics for first half of 2020

  China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) released statistics regarding applications of patents, trademarks, geographical indications (GI) and layout designs of integrated circuits in the first half of 2020.

A quick glance on the figures:
  • Patent : Total applications - 68.3 million / Total granted patents - 21.7 million
  • PCT applications: 2.95 million, increased by 22.6% compared with the first half of 2019
  • Trademark : Total applications - 4.284 million / Total registrations - 2.629 million
  • Madrid applications: 3,875 applications filed by Chinese applicants, increased by 36% compared with the first half of 2019
